The painting depicts Maple Syrup Makers. A big red barn with green doors is home to Maple Syrup making. Out front of the barn are folks gathered around two black cast iron pots cooking sap from trees to make syrup. Some folks are carrying the buckets full of sap over to the man by the pots so he can pour the sap into the pots. other folks are gathering the firewood its going to take to take to keep the fire going. Some children are building a snowman and other children are ice skating with their parents. A little black dog ventures out onto the ice following his master. In the distance is a white house and rolling hills with Christmas trees. Each Maple tree has two buckets and snowy branches..... and so much more detail.
